Four Types of Thiamine
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This protocol is designed for people who are already accustomed to using thiamine derivatives in doses above 400mg per day. This protocol NOT advised for individuals who are new to thiamine supplementation.
This package was formulated to provide four types of thiamine in bioavailable form, along with all the nutritional cofactors to support thiamine supplementation in high doses and prevent depletion of other essential nutrients.
It serves as a complete protocol and focuses on three key areas:
1. Thiamine with high bioavailability
ThiaMega includes blend of different forms of thiamine including three synthetic derivatives: TTFD, benfotiamine, sulbutiamine.
Each of these derivatives were originally developed in Japan and have been studied for their ability to increase thiamine concentrations at a greater rate than ordinary thiamine salts.
TTFD stands for thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide, which is composed of a thiamine molecule bound with a sulfur group. Benfotiamine is an S-acyl derivative which has been heavily studied for its ability to improve blood sugar management, diabetic complications and peripheral nerve function.
Sulbutiamine contains two molecules of thiamine bound together by a disulfide bond, and has been shown to improve brain thiamine concentrations and dopaminergic neurotransmission.
The molecular structure of these three thiamine derivatives allows them to pass through intestinal and cellular membranes without the requirement for a transport system. These qualities provide them with superior bioavailability compared with thiamine salts.
2. Elemental support
ThiAssist is designed to support the actions of thiamine at the cellular level through providing five minerals in bioavailable form, each having known interactions with thiamine metabolism.
These minerals include magnesium, potassium, selenium, molybdenum, and manganese.
3. B Vitamin cofactors
ThiActive B-Complex provides a full spectrum of B-group vitamins to complement the action of thiamine (vitamin B1) within the cell. These include the active methylated forms of folate and vitamin B12, along with two thiamine derivatives (TTFD and befotiamine)
